Warehouse TERRADA Opens New Location of GALLERY DEPOT, Artwork Storage Exclusively for Galleries, in Heiwajima, Ota-ku, Tokyo
In January 2021, Warehouse TERRADA will open a GALLERY DEPOT in Heiwajima, Tokyo, an artwork storage service for galleries.
Artistry, rarity, cultural significance, passion of the artists and an extensive spectrum of values encompass artworks. With the scale of the domestic art market expanding, the demand for storage solutions have also gained momentum to pass on the artworks to future generations without undermining its values.
The GALLERY DEPOT Yokohama Hazawa, an artwork storage service exclusive to galleries commenced services in September of 2020 providing the utmost environment offering services such as temperature and humidity management suitable for preserving the stored artworks, security systems, earthquake-proof construction and has received wide praise from many art galleries.
The new GALLERY DEPOT Heiwajima, to be opened in January 2021, will boast a paramount storage environment, convenient location, competitive pricing and was built to meet the storage requirements of various galleries located in the heart of the Tokyo area. The high-ceiling space has a warehouse feel and can offer storage for three-dimensional and large artworks and can also provides walk-in rooms between 3 tsubo (9.9 ㎡) to 40 tsubo (132.2㎡) in size, allowing the depot to meet a wide array of storage needs. GALLERY DEPOT Heiwajima also offers a variety of services related to artwork storage, such as transportation, restoration and insurance.
Through our operation of art and culture dissemination facilities such as the contemporary art collectors’ museum WHAT, art cafe WHAT CAFE, art materials lab PIGMENT TOKYO, and the TERRADA ART COMPLEX, Japan’s largest gallery complex, we are working to turn Tennoz into into a major center for the arts.
