WHAT CAFE to Hold Exhibition Showcasing 16 Artists, Centered on the Theme of “Narrative,” Starting September 13th (Fri)
Exhibition featuring around 200 artworks that evoke deep-seated emotions from within memories
WHAT CAFE, an art gallery cafe operated by Warehouse TERRADA, will present an exhibition “WHAT CAFE EXHIBITION vol.37: Canvas of a Narrative” from September 13th (Fri) to September 29th (Sun), 2024.
This exhibition will feature 16 artists whom WHAT CAFE has been focusing on, showcasing, and selling between 150 to 200 artworks under the theme of “Narrative.” This exhibition showcases works that stir emotions deeply embedded in memories, such as illustrations from cherished old storybooks, the evocative eyes and gestures of characters in animated films and movies that recall story beginnings and endings, and scenes that evoke shifts in perspective or setting. WHAT CAFE will occasionally have participating artists at the venue during the exhibition. It will host events to create opportunities for visitors to experience art up close through interactions with the artists.

[About WHAT CAFE]
A space to exhibit and sell artworks by up-and coming artists in Japan. It boasts 800 square meters of luminous, expansive floor space. Works on display are constantly updated––a year-round flow of beauty and cool from the new pantheon of creative visual geniuses. This maximizes the opportunities for artists to be seen, be loved, and sell their work. We hold workshops, events, and meet-ups related to the exhibitions, so you can dive deep and meet like-minded art lovers. It’s a space to experience art with all five senses while enjoying a meal and drinks. Since August 2022, WHAT CAFE has been holding exhibitions based on the concept “ART IS…” It offers a space to reconsider and rediscover what art is to everyone who visits WHAT CAFE.
