WHAT CAFE, an art gallery cafe operated by Warehouse TERRADA, will present an exhibition showcasing arts and crafts works from June 27th (Thu) to July 7th (Sun), 2024. This exhibition is part of the TENNOZ ART WEEK 2024 program and includes tea ceremony experiences featuring bowls created by the exhibiting artists. This experience will also be available as a VIP program for Tokyo Gendai.

We will hold TENNOZ ART WEEK 2024 is an art event aimed at bridging Japan and the international art scene and promoting international cultural tourism by programming world-class art content in the Art District Tennoz, Tokyo and creating a platform for domestic and international art professionals and enthusiasts to gather. As part of this event, WHAT CAFE is excited to announce its very first arts and crafts exhibition, which primarily features young artists.
Titled “Beautility,” a combination of “Beauty” and “Utility,” this exhibition offers an opportunity to rediscover the potential and value of arts and crafts by showcasing works that blend traditional materials and techniques with contemporary and innovative expressions, engaging with the global art market. In collaboration with B-OWND, a craftworks-as-art platform service provided by Tanseisha, the exhibition will showcase and sell works focused on the “Betweenness of Kogei,” exploring the “space” and “ambiguity” within the artwork.
Enjoy encountering approximately 200 pieces, including works by the young artists selected by WHAT CAFE.
