Art Gallery Cafe, WHAT CAFE to Hold Exhibition in Conjunction with TERRADA ART AWARD

TERRADA ART AWARD was started in 2014 to support emerging artists. From January 10th (Wed), 2024, TERRADA ART AWARD 2023 Finalist Exhibition will be held.
WHAT CAFE, which shares the same purpose as the award, has provided opportunities for showcasing and selling artworks since its inception in 2020.
In conjunction with the finalist exhibition, WHAT CAFE will hold an exhibition related to the TERRADA ART AWARD.

This exhibition will spotlight ten artists among the 20 award recipients of TERRADA ART AWARD 2014, showcasing their significant evolution in creation and expression throughout their careers since receiving the award. The exhibit will showcase current works alongside the award-winning artworks and other pieces from that period, tracing their artistic transitions. Additionally, the exhibition will shed light on their future visions and thoughts about the award’s development. This will be achieved through questionnaires about their award-winning artworks and reflections on the exhibition ten years after receiving the award.

A contemporary art award designed to support emerging artists. To discover artists who can play an active role on the world stage, the jury with an international perspective and a deep understanding of contemporary art have selected five finalists. They will create unique shows based on the plans they submitted for this award, and present their works, including unreleased new creations, in five solo exhibitions.

Works on display are constantly updated––a year-round flow of beauty and cool from the new pantheon of creative visual geniuses. This maximizes the opportunities for artists to be seen, be loved, and sell their work. We hold workshops, events, and meet-ups related to the exhibitions, so you can dive deep and meet like-minded art lovers. It’s a space to experience art with all five senses while enjoying a meal and drinks. Since August 2022, WHAT CAFE has been holding exhibitions based on the concept “ART IS…” It offers a space to reconsider and rediscover what art is to everyone who visits WHAT CAFE.
