Warehouse TERRADA to Hold TERRADA ART AWARD 2023 in Support of Emerging Artists

"The next precedent––is you": The contemporary art award will open its entries on November 21st (Mon), 2021

Warehouse TERRADA will be holding TERRADA ART AWARD 2023, recognizing talented creators of contemporary art. The entry period is from November 21st (Mon), 2022, until 6 PM on January 31st (Tue), 2023. The five finalists will be announced on September 11th (Mon), 2023, and TERRADA ART AWARD 2023 Finalist Exhibition will be held in January 2024.

TERRADA ART AWARD is a contemporary art award designed to support emerging artists. To discover artists who can play an active role on the world stage, we have selected a jury panel with an international perspective and a deep understanding of contemporary art. Applicants will undergo a screening period in which portfolios and exhibition plans will be reviewed, culminating in the selection of five finalists. Each finalist will receive prize money of 3,000,000 yen to accommodate the production of the actual artworks and an opportunity to exhibit the works at one of our facilities.
TERRADA ART AWARD 2021 received 1,346 entries from within Japan and overseas, and the works of the five selected finalists (Rikako Kawauchi, Gaёtan Kubo, Ana Scripcariu-Ochiai, Atsuko Mochida and Shota Yamauchi) were presented at TERRADA ART AWARD 2021 Finalist Exhibition in December 2021.
We want to foster a society in which artists can thrive. Through TERRADA ART AWARD, we fully support the careers of our finalists—artists with the potential to drive the arts forward into the future—as they venture out into the world, break conventions, and discover their raison d’être.
We are also pleased to announce that TERRADA ART AWARD 2023 received sponsorship from Japan Airlines, MHD Moët Hennessy Diageo K.K., as on the previous occasion.
