Art Gallery Cafe, WHAT CAFE to Hold Two Exhibitions – WHAT CAFE EXHIBITION vol.20 and vol.21, Featuring Artworks by 17 artists
WHAT CAFE, an art gallery cafe managed by Warehouse TERRADA, will have WHAT CAFE EXHIBITION vol.20 from September 13th (Tue) to September 19th (Mon), and WHAT CAFE EXHIBITION vol.21 from September 29th (Thu) to October 11th (Tue), 2022, respectively.
[Overview]
WHAT CAFE EXHIBITION vol.20
This exhibition will focus on nine artists selected by WHAT CAFE. Their artworks reflect each artist’s techniques, such as layers of delicate structure, matiere, beautiful lines and gradations. We will provide a venue where visitors can experience various viewpoints of the world by the artists through their works in the exhibition. We will also offer opportunities to sense the expressions of each piece intuitively and encounter some fascinating works as if searching for treasure.

WHAT CAFE EXHIBITION vol.21
This exhibition will focus on eight artists who incorporate strong messages in their vivid and expressive work styles. They have contributed to education, community revitalization, and solving social issues through art. We will provide opportunities to encounter art and feel its energy and potential for expression by appreciating their artworks in the exhibition.
In addition to the exhibit, WHAT CAFE will sell books since Autumn has been regarded as the season for reading in Japan. The lineup will feature a variety of art-related books such as introductory guides, picture books, and specialized magazines for art fans and those with fewer experiences with art. We will offer an occasion for visitors’ interest in art to be inspired by the exhibits and books.

[About WHAT CAFE]
A space to exhibit and sell artworks by up-and coming artists in Japan. It boasts 800 square meters of luminous, expansive floor space. Works on display are constantly updated––a year-round flow of beauty and cool from the new pantheon of creative visual geniuses. This maximizes the opportunities for artists to be seen, be loved, and sell their work. We hold workshops, events, and meet-ups related to the exhibitions, so you can dive deep and meet like-minded art lovers. It’s a space to experience art with all five senses while enjoying a meal and drinks.
Since August 2022, WHAT CAFE has been holding exhibitions based on the concept “ART IS…” It offers a space to reconsider and rediscover what art is to everyone who visits WHAT CAFE.
